Canyon today launched the 2022 Grail gravel bicycle series, with a new structure and exquisite artwork, as well as a new Load bicycle packaging luggage. The brand has also added a suitable junior road racer bike to its product portfolio, providing aspiring professionals with a ready-made option to meet the requirements of accredited races.

2022 Grail has 11 different models and offers three aluminum and carbon variants in a range: Grail CF SLX, Grail CF SL and Grail AL.

The bike has a variety of models, choose Shimano GRX Di2, Shimano GRX or SRAM Red eTap AXS package, the price ranges from 1,499 pounds to 6,699 pounds.

Canyon says that Grail is suitable for "all seasons, all surfaces, and all conditions." Grizl with thicker tires is only aimed at rugged terrain and off-road, while Grail bridges the gap between Canyon's gravel and road range.

This series of updates is all about specifications and painting, and the basic frame set for 2022 will not change. Carbon fiber Grails continues to use Canyon’s unique two-story cockpit, which the brand claims provides shock absorption comfort on gravel and forest tracks, and allows riders to benefit from its four different riding positions.

Grail has an integrated seat tube clamp, Canyon says it can provide more effective bending, which means the bike is more aerodynamic than previous designs.

The bike also has an integrated mount to fit the brand's own mudguard.

The Grail CF SLX series is the lightest, weighing only over 8 kg, and is the fastest road and off-road product that Canyon said.

It has gravel-specific geometries, electronic kits, and "desludge" wheels. Available in 12-speed and 11-speed versions.

The second-tier Grail CF SL series is aimed at year-round off-road adventures. The price is lower, but the performance is similar.

Carbon fiber models are equipped with 40 mm Schwalbe G-One R rubber tires, mounted on DT Swiss gravel rims, without tube.

Grail AL is suitable for those who prefer aluminum frames, traditional boom cockpits and lower prices.

Compared with the two carbon fiber, it is also equipped with three bottle cage mounts.

Grail has a 42 mm tire gap and comes in seven sizes, from 2XS to 2XL.

The reach and stack of the medium-sized Grail CF SL 7 eTap are 421 mm and 536 meters, respectively, and the head tube angle ranges from 70.25 to 72.75.

Although it looks long on paper, Canyon is one of many brands that uses mountain bike-style geometric methods to better handle off-roading, with a long top tube and a short stem.

With the introduction of 2022 Grail, Canyon has also expanded its Load product range to include a new handle bag with two liters of waterproof storage space and a new frame bag.

Canyon also recently launched a bike for youth competitions, which it calls Ultimate Disc Young Hero.

Ultimate Young Hero is designed for young riders, with narrower handlebars and shorter crank arms, and uses the brand's popular Endurace frame, which is the smallest frame in its road product portfolio.

The bike is equipped with Shimano Tiagra 10-speed disc brake kit, Selle Italia seat, Fulcrum Racing wheels with Continental Grand Prix 5000 tires and Canyon V15/H17 handlebar-stem combination.

The main color of the bike is inspired by Team Alpecin-Fenix sponsored by Canyon.

The bike has 3XS and XS frame sizes to choose from. The 3XS bike uses 650B wheels and the XS uses 700C.

It is worth noting that both frames comply with U11 and U13 racing rules, including the correct primary gearing.

For the 3XS, the reach and stack are 350 mm and 510 mm, respectively, for riders from 151 cm to 158 cm in height. XS covers the height range from 158 cm to 164 cm, and the numbers are 354 mm and 529 mm.

Canyon Ultimate Disc Young Hero is available now, priced at 1,199 pounds.
